VERNA BLOUNT MYRICK Verna Blount-Myrick was born on Friday, January 27, 1956 to the late Willie Lee and Vernell Blount, Sr. She had an identical twin sister, Vernell Blount Jr., younger brother, Orlando Blount, and Wille Lee Blount Jr. who preceded her in death. She was called home from labor to reward on Tuesday September 20, 2022. Her early education began in the parochial school system in Philadelphia, Pa. She attended Wagner Jr. High and graduated from Olney High School. Following graduation, she attended vocational school where she obtained her license to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. On August 22, 1989 she was married to Abraham Myrick, Jr. the love of her life and together they raised Ieshia Blount, Toronda Blount, and Rosalind Myrick. Verna's foundation was her belief in God for several years she worshipped at various churches in the Philadelphia area. She made sure that her children attended church on a regular basis. She was strong in her belief that all things are possible with God. Verna loved people. She was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Philadelphia Geriatric Center for over 25years where she gave faithful and devoted service. In 2008 her health began to fail and as time progressed her failing health caused her to retire from Cheltenham York Nursing home and the health care industry. Verna loved life and her family dearly. Some of her favorite memories were spending summer vacations in Wildwood New Jersey, traveling to Edenton North Carolina to spend time with family and sitting on the Patio with her husband and Dog, Colby. Verna's all-time favorite game was Spades. She loved to go shopping, enjoyed cooking, and had a passion for listening to her Oldies on WDAS Radio. She enjoyed having quality alone time going on breakfast dates with her husband to IHOP. The Beloved and cherished memories will live on in the hearts of her husband Abraham Myrick Jr, her daughters Ieshia Blount (Bruce) Rosalind Myrick, Toronda Blount-Toliver (Jonathan), three grandchildren, Sharif, Imani and Jonae, two great grandchildren, Sailaah and Safir, two brothers, Wille Lee (preceded her in death) and Orlando, one sister, Vernell Jr. Two Nieces, Lasha Sr, Marie, two Nephews Erick (Tonia) and Tradell (Eboni), 2 great nephews, Tatum and Ian, her special cousin Michael and two sister/friends Cathy and Latasha. A host of other family members that will miss her dearly.
