Obituary of Christine Muniz

Christine Muniz was born on February 26, 1937 in Fairview, Virginia to the late Vander Lee and Mary Lee Gillis. At the age of two years old, she came to Philadelphia with her mother. She received her education from the Philadelphia Public School System. Christine was the youngest of six siblings who all preceded her in death. She met and married the "Love of her Life" the late Salvador Muniz in 1962. Christine worked in Clothing Factories as presser and she loved to sew in spare time. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a member of Voice of Deliverance Church Worship Center where she served as Mother of the Church and President of the Usher Board. Christine made you feel welcomed when you entered her home, always ready to feed anyone who walked through her doors. She was known for her famous shrimp egg foo young which was by far better than any Chinese store. Christine was a comedian, she loved to make everyone laugh and had a special name for almost everyone she encountered. Christine leaves cherished heartfelt memories to her daughter Elaine Jones, granddaughter Jalyn Jones, special niece and nephew Mary and Lamont Bryant who also took care of her along with her daughter, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
