Mommy, today, marks nine months since you left. There is not a day that passes by that I wish, you were here with me to talk. It still hurts to go in your room every morning as I use to do when you were here with me, I would open the blinds to let the sun come in or to watch the rain. I miss you so, so much. My heart continues to ache with pain, knowing that when I go into your room, you are not there anymore. You are in heaven free and that brings me comfort but does not stop the yearning to hold you, kiss you, talk to you, sing with you, laugh with you and worship our Lord with you. Today, November 6th, I memorialize eight months since your passing. It is so hard to accept that you, my beautiful mommy are gone forever. Dear mommy. Today, is your 86th birthday. I am sitting in your room remembering telling you, we were going to celebrate it as we always did with a beautiful cake and lots of candles. For your birthday breakfast, I would ask you, what was your request but I already knew what your request was. You wanted your favorite serullitos, cheese, two soft boiled eggs and coffee. Then you would take a nap. Once you woke up, I’d bathe you, shampoo your hair. I made you look like a beautiful queen. Your birthdays were always special. Full of songs, laughter and gifts. Mommy, all I have are memories because God had other plans. God needed you and so, he took you where sickness nor pain from sickness exist. The tree in front of the window in your room bloomed as with every Spring season with beautiful flowers, which you loved to look at every morning when I opened the blinds. I took a picture in remembrance of you. I continue to miss you every waking moment. I miss everything that you were. I look at the many pictures and videos I took of you, and can’t believe I don’t have you anymore. I thank God everyday for allowing me to spend 4 wonderful years with you. I cherished every single day. You were the best mother anyone could ever want. You left me with many examples to follow. The biggest one is how you put yourself totally in God’s hands and continue to follow Him no matter what came your way. Today, I want to say happy 86th birthday in heaven. Mom, when you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw all you did for me. When you thought I wasn’t listening, I heard every word. You’ve made me who I am, and I will forever love you. I think about you every single day. Your room is empty, you are not there but every morning I open your window blinds because you loved to look outside from your bed. Every night, I close the blinds so that you could sleep soundly. Mamma, I long to hug you, kiss you, and play with you as I did every day. I miss you returning my hugs, kisses, and the “I love you too.” I miss your smile, the way you held my hand and face and squeezed it. I thank God for granting me three years with you.
